Hi guys!
Two weeks ago I got back from my vacation to Turkey. Both my boyfriend and I were extremely busy the last couple of months and were in need of total relaxation, so we decided to go to a luxurious resort. We spend most of our time at one of the eight pools, yeah you’ve read that right.. eight pools! On the first day we went to a Turkish bath where we enjoyed the sauna, hammam, 1-hour massage and a facial.. sounds like heaven doesn’t it? The masseur soaped us from head to toe, and then run a loofer all over us. I recommend not to go for a Turkish bath at the end of your holiday because you will rub off your tan. Equally remember that after a Turkish bath, the skin is new and not accustomed to the sun so it is easier to burn and end up looking like a lobster.
Besides tanning, swimming and eating a lot of baklava we also visited one of the oldest cities of Turkey, Antalya. We explored the old town (Kaleiçi) by bike, visited the old harbour, the Hadrian’s Gate and more. The view at the old harbor was absolutely stunning with a blue sky, mountains and crystal clear ocean. At night we went out for dinner at one of the small restaurants on the coast.
Over the week I kept my look quite casual. My favorite ensemble would be the white linen shirt with the dark blue shorts and slip-on shoes. To me this felt like the perfect casual summer look. Both the linen shirt and shorts are by H&M. The shoes are classic canvas slip-on by TOMS. Although the sole of the shoe is quite thin they’re surprisingly very comfortable to walk in for a couple of hours. To complete the look I wore a pair of black sunglasses by Persol.
If you’re looking for a vacation to lay at the pool all day with amazing food, beautiful views and cities with a rich history, I can highly recommend Turkey. Hope you guys also had an amazing vacation and are fully rested to face another year of work/college!
Take care,
MW
